outpost's origin story
Outpost grew out of Pliancy, an IT services provider that has spent years running infrastructure for firms of five to fifty people.
That's more than a fun fact; it's the reason the work lands. Most security consultants hand you findings, collect their fee, and leave. With roots in IT, Outpost has the perspective and the expertise to take you from discovery to implementation.
Since 2008, Pliancy has provided IT services for small and mid-sized businesses. We guide and manage the day-to-day technical infrastructure: the systems, accounts, and endpoints that keep teams working.
Clients began asking for our help with investor questionnaires, policy development, and other security questions. Answering them properly required a different skill set than our day-to-day support.
Rather than pointing clients elsewhere, we built a dedicated team within Pliancy. The result: security guidance written with real-life environments in mind, not advice built for a vacuum.
A security consultancy in its own right—still sharing a bench with the people who keep your systems running. Outpost's security specialists work closely with Pliancy technologists to ensure that guidance gets implemented promptly, not filed away in a drawer.
